Nuar Gallery: WooCommerce move and redesign

We moved Nuar Gallery, an Italian contemporary art gallery, from WooCommerce to Shopify in September 2024 and redesigned its store, with the price of original works shown only on request.

The brief

Nuar Gallery shows painting, sculpture and certified prints in permanent spaces inside five-star hotels, from Sardinia to Rapallo and Lake Como, and ships worldwide with certificates of authenticity. Its catalog holds two kinds of sale. Prints, posters and stationery sell like any product. Original works sell through a conversation with the gallerist, and a price tag on the page does not fit how collectors buy them. The brief for a move like this: leave WordPress behind, give the works a gallery-grade storefront, and handle both kinds of sale on one store.

What we did

  • Migration from WooCommerce

The store moved from WordPress and WooCommerce to Shopify in September 2024.

  • Redesign

A new storefront with minimal serif navigation and a video hero, where each work is presented with its artist, title, year, technique and dimensions.

  • Price on request

Original works use their own product page, with no price and no cart: a form asks for the visitor's name, email and the work, and the gallerist replies with the price by email.

  • Two ways to buy

Prints, posters and stationery keep their price and cart on the same store, next to the works sold on request.

The result

Nuar Gallery sells prints online and starts a conversation for every original work, from a single Shopify store.
